OC Tanger Outlets donate to breast cancer diagnostic center

December 31, 2013

The Tanger Outlet Center in Ocean City, Md., raised and donated $6,396.07 for the battle against breast cancer. During this season of hope and giving, Tanger made its local donation to the Eunice Q. Sorin Women’s Diagnostic Center at Atlantic General Hospital during a special ceremony at Tanger Dec. 20.

“It takes all of us working together with a common focus and determination to find a cure for this terrible disease,” said Steven B. Tanger, president and chief executive officer for Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc. “I am proud of our Tanger Team members in Ocean City, Md., for their continued hard work in fighting breast cancer, and I thank our shoppers for supporting Tanger’s mission to find a cure.”

Tanger’s 2013 PinkStyle Campaign ran Sept. 12 to Oct. 25 with funds being raised through the sale of the popular TangerStyle Pink Card. For a $5 donation to local breast cancer beneficiaries, Tanger customers received five special pink savings cards that provided 25 percent bonus savings at participating Tanger Outlet stores.

With its primary mission to help save lives, Tanger’s annual breast cancer awareness campaign creates awareness for the importance of early detection and helps raise the money necessary to support ongoing breast cancer research. Tanger’s campaign also helps fund many important programs and facilities designed to improve the quality of life for breast cancer patients.

Since 1994, Tanger has donated more than $13.5 million to fight breast cancer nationally.

The Tanger Outlet Center in Ocean City features more than 30 brand-name and designer outlet stores. The Tanger center is conveniently located on Route 50 just one mile west of the beach at 12741 Ocean Gateway, Ocean City.
