Phillip Allen earns LSVT certification

Philip Allen, PT, DPT, became an accredited provider of the Leo Silverman Voice Treatment BIG program for the treatment of Parkinson's and other neural dysfunction diseases. The Certification Workshop for LSVT was an educational/training session in an intensive whole-body, amplitude-based training protocol for individuals with Parkinson's disease, leading to his certification this past December in Cherry Hill, N.J.

LSVT BIG is delivered only by a certified clinician. Treatment is administered in 16 sessions over a single month (four individual 60-minute sessions per week). This protocol was developed specifically to address the unique movement impairments for people with Parkinson's disease. The protocol is both intensive and complex, with many repetitions of core movements that are used in daily living.
