January 13, 2014

Gregory Maziarz is the new chief financial officer of the YMCA of Delaware. Maziarz comes to the YMCA of Delaware from Clubhouse International, a nonprofit dedicated to changing the world of mental health in the United States and abroad. With more than 300 worldwide, clubhouses are community-based centers that offer members opportunities for friendship, employment, housing, education, and access to medical and psychiatric services. The safe environment instills members with a sense of belonging and the resources to become productive members of society.

As chief administrative officer at Clubhouse, Maziarz presided over finance, IT, human resources, and strategic planning. Prior to that, his career was with the YMCA of Greater New York where he was an executive director, a multibranch finance manager, and a branch business manager. “Greg understands membership, programming and residence from an operations and a financial perspective, and that will be a tremendous asset to our Y,” said Deborah Bagatta-Bowles, chief executive officer of the YMCA of Delaware.

Maziarz has a master of business administration in finance from St. John’s University, Tobin College of Business, and a bachelor of arts from Queens College. Recently, he earned his master of accounting from Pace University. Maziarz is married to Monika, a researcher in epidemiology and faculty at Columbia University. They have a 5-month-old daughter, Sofie. Maziarz and his family are looking forward to beginning their new life in Delaware.
