Sunrise Rotary to host Championship Sunday Jan. 19

January 10, 2014

Rehoboth Beach Sunrise Rotary Club will hold its 11th annual Championship Sunday Jan. 19, at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center.

The club, chartered Dec. 17, 2002, holds its primary fundraiser each year for hundreds of cheering fans watching the NFC and AFC championship games. It is an event that is embraced by the community and designed for the whole family. More than 500 attended last year. The club offers typical football tailgate fare, along with adult beverages. There is something for the kids as well as parents. There are always plenty of fun and valuable items available at the silent auction.

The Rehoboth Beach Sunrise Rotary Club supports many local charities, including: Casa San Francisco, the Sussex Family YMCA, holiday meals for hundreds of people in eastern Sussex County, Rehoboth Elementary School through the annual purchase of dictionaries for all third-grade students, donation of winter coats to children in Rehoboth Beach, foster children of Sussex County through the purchase of suitcases for displaced children, Salvation Army through the annual bell ringing, the Boys & Girls Club of Eastern Sussex County, and support of the English/Spanish dictionary program, to name just a few. Plan on joining friends for Championship Sunday. Tickets are available at ATI Physical Therapy on Route 1 in the Safeway shopping center or the Brandywine Senior Living Center located behind the Super G/Giant off of Route 1 in Rehoboth. Call Philip Allen at 302-226-2230 or Donna Winegar at 302-226-8750 for tickets.
