Gloria Dawn Witte, computer operator

Gloria Dawn Witte, 86, of Harbeson, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was born on April 7, 1927 in Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Charles G. and Jennie (Renninger) Trout.

Originally from Boyertown, Pa,, Mrs. Witte relocated to Harbeson where she resided for 24 years. Mrs. Witte enjoyed a 35-year career as a secretary with Boyertown Burial Casket Company and later as a computer operator with Misty Lingerie in Boyertown, Pa. Her hobbies included knitting, cooking and taking long walks along the Delaware beaches. Known by everyone close to her as an avid dog lover, Mrs. Witte also enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. She was always eager to help neighbors in need.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Witte is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert L. Witte; her two brothers: Carl Trout and Charles Trout Jr., and her sister Rhea Heffentrager. She is survived by a daughter, Sherry Eshbach from Millsboro; several nieces and nephews; and caring friends, Martha Day and Peggy Paul.

All services are private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 and/or the Delaware SPCA Sussex Chapter, 22918 DuPont Blvd., Georgetown, DE 19947.
