Norman B. Davis, retired welder

Mr. Norman B. Davis, 91, of Millsboro, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014.

Mr. Davis was born July 30, 1922, in Showell, Md. to the late Vaughn and Preely Davis. He was a welder with the Chicago Bridge and Iron Company, and a member of the Iron Workers Union. He was a playfully ornery man, who loved life and was animated. He often said, “I’ve gotta go to town to buy a duck” as an excuse to go for a drive. He loved driving. He also loved hunting deer, rabbits and squirrels. He loved his wife and family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two daughters, Sandra Davis and Wanda Foraker.

Norman is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret S. Davis of Millsboro; one daughter, Cindy Catts of Georgetown; a brother, Ernest Davis of Georgetown; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Fleetwood; and four grandchildren, Kimberly Marvel, Jessica Catts, Christina Catts and Alvin Foraker.

A funeral service and celebration of his life was held Sunday, Jan. 12, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. Burial followed in the Millsboro Cemetery. Floral tributes are welcomed.
