Shields Elementary students to present 'Wizard of Oz' at Cape High

There truly is no place like home as "The Wizard of Oz," the greatest family musical of all time, lands on the stage of Cape Henlopen High School.

The show will be performed by Shields Elementary School Theater Group's third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students in the school’s first musical production, directed by Kristin Gray and Kevin Carter with vocal direction and choreography by staff members Juanita Clendaniel, Jennifer Leach and Heidi Quillen.

A cast of approximately 100 students will captivate the audience as they travel down the Yellow Brick Road and beyond with Dorothy, Toto, Cowardly Lion, Tinman and Scarecrow in this dazzling musical production featuring beloved songs like, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “If I Only Had A Brain,” “Ding Dong, the Witch Is Dead” and many more.

"The Wizard of Oz" will feature Riley Keen and Bella Myers as Dorothy, Chris Williams as Toto, Jocelyn Leach as the Scarecrow, Jackson Basile as the Tinman, Joe Kane as the Cowardly Lion, KyZei Vester as the Wicked Witch and Asia Hobbs as Glinda.
