Healthier Sussex County announces partnership with Plus 3 Network

Focus is on decreasing the percentage of overweight residents
January 24, 2014

Healthier Sussex County, a collaboration among Beebe Healthcare, Nanticoke Memorial Hospital and Bayhealth-Milford Memorial, has announced a partnership with the Plus 3 Network.

The Plus 3 Network partnership will focus on decreasing the percentage of overweight and obese residents of Sussex County by encouraging more physical activity. This initiative was selected by Healthier Sussex County because, according to the Delaware Health Tracker, 67 percent of all adults in Sussex County are overweight or obese.

The best part of participation in the Plus 3 Network is that each tracked activity raises funds for a charitable organization. Plus 3 Network's program is designed to inspire individuals to participate in daily activities using charitable giving and healthy competition as the motivation for participating.

As part of Healthier Sussex County, members enrolled in the Plus 3 Network will be raising funds in support of Sussex Outdoors - a public awareness campaign focused on making families aware of opportunities for outdoor activities and increasing those opportunities.

Joining the Plus 3 Network is easy and takes less than two minutes. To join the Plus 3 Network, go to Create a new account. Join the Healthier Sussex County Clubhouse. Download the Plus 3 app to your phone (optional). Start logging activities and earning money for Sussex Outdoors.
