Walmart in Georgetown recently awarded the nonprofit Georgetown Playground and Park Inc. $5,000 toward the building of a children's playground for the community. This playground will be located on North King Street, occupying two now-vacant lots in the center of town.

Georgetown Playground and Park Inc. was formed to obtain the funding needed to complete this project.  All donations are tax-deductible and welcome.

The group is also looking for sponsors for its summer concert series. Seventeen  concerts have been planned from May until September at the Bedford Street Park. Sponsors may choose the date and music or band for the cost of $1,000 per concert. The sponsor will be welcome to meet and greet the crowd and have the logo of the business displayed on the stage.

Those interested in either of these projects should contact Angela Townsend at Georgetown Town Hall, 302-856-7391, for more information.
