February 1, 2014

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Delaware, as part of the Auxiliary National Day of Service, packed 195 totes for U.S. women warriors. More than 56 volunteers including the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 28 and the Post 28 family, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Sussex County, Home of the Brave, Sussex County Young Marines, Baywood Association and the Korean War Veterans were on hand to put together the totes with items donated by the community.

Totes will be distributed to the Home of the Brave Women’s Transitional Facility, the Veterans Center in Georgetown and other agencies that might have a need. The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 28 extends thanks to those who contributed to the event, which brought an overwhelming number of donations.
