NVHomes at the Beach partner with nonprofit Contractors for a Cause

One of the nation’s top luxury homebuilders, NVHomes, part of NVR Inc., announces its partnership with nonprofit organization Contractors for a Cause in its Delaware beach-area communities.

From professional advice and problem solving to free home maintenance workshops, Contractors for a Cause offers an array of opportunities for disadvantaged community members to receive the help they need in their homes. Helping Hands, one of Contractors for a Cause’s established programs, allows homeowners to find solutions for home construction, repair and maintenance. The organization also provides the Legacy School Award, a financial scholarship given each year to two well-deserving local high school seniors.

Members of the organization meet monthly to plan and discuss upcoming ways to serve their local community. With the motto, “Good contractors doing good things for good people,” the organization constantly looks for ways to serve and aid those in need. In 2010, the volunteer group of contractors built and completed the Justin W. Jennings Foundation, a hospice house for cancer patients and their families in Bethany Beach.

NVHomes partnered with the compassionate organization in December 2013, when the company lent support to a Helping Hands project in which the roof of a local family’s home was repaired. The volunteers replaced the dilapidated roof with a brand-new Tamko roof, giving the family a solid covering for the holidays. In addition, NVHomes initiated a financial partnership with the nonprofit organization of $7,500 to support and work alongside Contractors for a Cause.

“I believe our group could rally behind these folks and significantly enhance their mission,” says Todd Hickman, division manager and vice president of NVHomes Coastal Division. Through this partnership, NVHomes aims to include employee volunteer hours, willing vendors and potential supplier donations to invest in and give back to the local community through the efforts of Contractors for a Cause.
