Friends of Lewes library seek candidates for board

The Friends of the Lewes Public Library is seeking candidates from the greater Lewes area to serve a three-year appointment on its board of directors as the board secretary. Interested individuals must be current members of the Friends of the Lewes Public Library.

To be considered, send a completed application to Candace Vessella, president, Friends of the Lewes Public Library Board of Directors, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes, DE 19958, by Friday, Feb. 28. Applications may be picked up at the library or downloaded from the Friends page at www.leweslibrary.org.

The purpose of the Friends Board of Directors is to raise funds for its uses, such as purchasing lending materials including books, sponsoring performances, and enhancing the Children's Program, as well as promoting the library. The Friends organization is developing plans for a shop in the new Lewes Public Library and seeking individuals who are willing to be active board members to help develop and execute the plans for this enterprise and other fundraising activities.
