Carol W. Collins, devout Christian

Carol W. Collins, 66, of Georgetown, while surrounded by her family, entered into God’s Kingdom Friday, Jan, 31, 2014, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

She is the daughter of James A. West Jr. and the late Hazel Jean (Spence) West.

Mrs. Collins attended Georgetown High School graduating class of 1965. She was a secretary for attorneys in Georgetown and owned her own sewing business, Sew Happy, for many years.

She and her husband enjoyed riding their Harley Davidson motorcycles and belonged to the Hog Club in Seaford for more than 20 years. Carol also loved target and skeet shooting. She was a devout Christian and attended Crossroad Community Church. Carol was gifted, writing many poems and composing more than 100 Christian songs.

She is survived by her loving family and husband of 49 years, Louis D. Collins (Bud); her father, James West Jr.; two daughters, Judith C. Spencer and husband Dennis, and JoAnn C. Evans and husband Kenneth H.; three grandchildren, Tat, Georgia and Jason; and one great-grandson, London Von Exline; also two sisters, Bonnie W. Shea and husband Gary, and Patti W. Payne and husband George.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 2 p.m., at Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Road, Georgetown, with visitation after noon. Interment will be at Providence UM Church Cemetery, Georgetown. Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services Georgetown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the church.
