Faith Youth Group to hold fundraiser Feb. 21 at Annabella's

Faith Youth Group of Faith United Methodist Church, Rehoboth, will host its second fundraiser of the year Friday, Feb. 21, at Annabella’s Italian Restaurant, 1201 Savannah Road, Lewes. Fifteen percent of the entire day’s sales will go directly to Faith Youth Group. Everyone is invited to choose from a variety of menu options.

This dynamic and energetic group has participated in several activities including the following: 2013 and 2014 Peninsula-Delaware Conference Youth Rally, Ocean City, Md.; serving and delivering meals after church services; attendance at Vacation Bible School; preparation, service and delivery of 150 Christmas dinners to senior citizens and homebound; visits to Harbor Healthcare, Renaissance Rehabilitation and nursing homes; 2013 Christmas concert; participation in the annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. parade; and Applebee’s fundraisers.

The group will also attend a four-day youth retreat in Ocean City, Md. These youth are all members of Faith United Methodist Church Sunday School and The Young Kingdom Builders Choir.

As a result of their service to others, Faith Youth Group is the recipient of several awards such as the 2008 Governor Youth Volunteer Service, 2011 Dover District Board of Lay Ministries for their service to God’s community. In 2012, the group was inducted into The Order of St. Barnabas Peninsula - Conference Board of Lay Ministries.

The officers and members include Tamia Bonville, president; Jordan Taylor, vice president; Marnae Duffy, treasurer; Shayne Brittingham, president of fundraising; Tykia Duffy, vice president of fundraising; Jah’Kai Duffy, vice president of fundraising; Daeveon Deshields and Shayla Brittingham, prayer warriors; David Hicks III; Miracle Cox; Denay Cox and Jenay Cox.

The adult advisers are Edward Reese Jr., Claudia D. Reese, Tamela Brititngham and Diaz J. Bonville, communications specialist.
