Jay Fleming to speak on food photography Feb.12 at CCC meeting

February 4, 2014

Local photographer Jay Fleming will speak to the Coastal Camera Club at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12, about food photography: food styling, backgrounds, lighting, lens selection, focus point and more. The meeting will take place at the Cadbury at Lewes retirement community, 17028 Cadbury Circle, Lewes.

In an effort to promote local seafood, Fleming has been collaborating with restaurants that serve Maryland seafood products. His photographs are used online in social media and in print publications to connect consumers to the restaurants and the products. He will work on a cookbook within the month.

As a recent college graduate, Fleming is well on his way to a distinguished photographic career. His work has been published in National Geographic; he has worked with the Chesapeake seafood industry to develop photographic essays for publication, and he has presented programs with breathtaking photographs to the CCC in previous years.

Fleming comes from a family of passionate photographers. His father, Kevin Fleming, is a former National Geographic photographer and a highly acclaimed Delaware photographer. Both Kevin and Jay Fleming are on the schedule for the CCC's 2014 Photo Beach Bash, set for Wednesday, March 26. Learn more at www.photobeachbash.com.

The Coastal Camera Club is dedicated to promoting an interest in photography and advancing the skills of members through learning and sharing of photographic knowledge and experiences.

Guests are always welcome to visit the CCC meetings and competitions at the Cadbury at Lewes retirement community. Programs by renowned speakers are held the second Wednesday of each month, and competition nights are held the fourth Wednesday. For more information about CCC, go to www.coastalcameraclub.com.
