Steen, Waehler & Schrider-Fox welcomes new staff members
The Law Office of Steen, Waehler & Schrider-Fox announces the addition of two new professionals.
Susan Huesman Mitchell joins the firm in the position of counsel. Her practice is concentrated in the areas of estates and trusts (both planning and administration), business and tax. She also counsels clients with respect to their IRC section 1031 real estate transactions, which allow a client to minimize or indefinitely postpone liability for capital gains taxes upon the sale of real estate.
Mitchell received a BS in civil engineering from Bucknell University in 1984, her JD degree from University of Maryland in 1997 and an LLM (master's) in taxation from University of Baltimore School of Law in 2006. She is a member of the Bar of the Supreme Courts of Delaware and Maryland. She is also a member of the American, Delaware State, Maryland State and Sussex County bar associations.
Brian T. Riggin joins the firm as an associate. His practice will be focused on general civil litigation, municipal law, and land use and development matters.
Riggin was born in Lewes and is a lifelong resident of Sussex County. He graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 2006 and received his BA in policy management from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa., in 2010. He then attended the University of South Carolina School of Law and received his JD in 2013. After graduation, he returned home and was admitted to the Delaware Bar in January 2014.
