February 26, 2014

Milton Elementary School students were among 15 million students taking part in a worldwide campaign kicked off by President Obama recently. Taking place during Computer Science Education Week, The Hour of Code was a one-hour introduction to computer programming designed to demystify code. Some excited students chose to write their first line of code for game programs such as Angry Birds.

Members of Rachel Short's third-grade class in front (l-r) Emily Drumheller, Ethan Felker, Kathryn Drumheller, Kevin Juarez-Sanchez and Stella Dutton display their certificates for participating in the Hour of Code during Computer Science Education Week. They are joined by classmates Aiden Crossen, Taylor Husbands, Ali’sha Hurst, Jonathan Agustin, Jaden Cannon, Cali Stratton, Ava Azato and Ryan Baker.
