Korean War vets make contribution to Home of the Brave for Women

February 22, 2014

The Bill Carr Chapter One of the Korean War Veterans Association recently made a $500 contribution to the Home of the Brave for Women on Causey Avenue in Milford. Money will be used to support homeless and troubled women veterans in Delaware. The home is scheduled to open by the end of February or early March.

The KWVA raises funds for both men and women veterans through its Wounded Warrior Fund.  More than $30,000 in contributions were made last year to both in-state and out-of-state veterans causes. Funds are raised through various means including cake sales, community and corporate contributions, and through its Wounded Warrior Fund website.

Shown at the donation are (l-r) Joann Sedai, KWVA vice president; Dorothy Giangeruso, KWVA Women's Auxiliary; and Jessica Finan, Home of the Brave Foundation executive director.

Anyone interested in helping or joining the KWVA should contact Jack McGinley, secretary, at 302-945-0698.
