Grassroots environmental group thankful to students, legislators

February 17, 2014

Protecting Our Indian River recently sponsored a weekend conference at Possum Point in Millsboro, hosting environmental studies students from Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pa. The group would like to thank Rep. John Atkins, Sen. Gerald Hocker and former Sen. George Bunting who presented the economic development side of the environmental issues.

Both sides of each issue need to be presented. The students and professors got a first-hand view of the old Vlasic pickle processing site and discussed issues such as well water and public water and permitting, among other issues.

Thank you to each one who attended. A public workshop will be held in the near future.
