Seashore State Park offers classes in fish cleaning and cooking

Gilled to Grilled classes set March 7, April 4 and May 2

With warmer months just around the corner, many Delaware residents and visitors are gearing up for the spring fishing season.  Delaware Seashore State Park has been offering beach driving clinics and introductory surf fishing programs for several years.

Although these programs are a great way for individuals to learn the skills and techniques necessary to catch a fish, many people are unsure of what steps to take to get that fish from the hook to the dinner plate.

Delaware Seashore State Park is now offering a new program that will teach those anglers how to safely prepare a fish for dinner.  The program, Gilled to Grilled, will be offered at 7 p.m. Fridays, March 7, April 4, and May 2.

Participants will have the opportunity to fillet a fish, prepare it for dinner, and enjoy a full meal. All food is included; participants just need to bring something to drink. This program is suitable for ages 15 and up and costs $40 per person.

Preregistration is required; call the Indian River Life-Saving Station at 302-227-6991.
