Delmarva Power's Gift of Energy program helps customers pay energy bills

February 15, 2014

The recent cold weather means some Delmarva Power customers could be coping with higher-than-normal energy bills in the weeks ahead. Delmarva Power wants to remind customers that its Gift of Energy is now a year-round program that offers a way to help those who need assistance in paying energy bills.

Donors can visit a Delmarva Power office in Wilmington, Newark or Millsboro and provide a customer service representative with the name and address of the person for whom they are buying the Gift of Energy. They can then make a payment via check or credit card on that person’s account.

The program is also accessible at where a Gift of Energy form is available. Once submitted, a customer service representative will contact the purchaser to complete the transaction.

“We know that this very cold winter weather can lead to high energy bills, making it difficult for some customers to keep their energy accounts up to date,” said Felecia Greer, customer advocate director and executive sponsor of the Gift of Energy program.

Since the program’s inception in 2008, nearly $50,000 in gifts have assisted customers.
