Eagle's Nest students design a biblical Valentine menu

February 23, 2014

Eagle’s Nest Christian Academy's  seventh-grade Bible class recently completed a Valentine menu project that included food from the Bible. They researched both the Old Testament and New Testament for food items they could use to create an appetizing Valentine menu complete with appetizer, soup, salad, a choice of two entrees and dessert. The final menus were printed on parchment paper and were decorated with hearts.

Robert Cirelli, banquet chef for Irish Eyes in Lewes and the former owner of La Rosa Negra Restaurant, came in to judge the menus. He was quite surprised with the students' creativity and how eloquently they described their dishes, saying that Eagle's Nest may have some future gourmet chefs.

Nancy Cirelli's Bible class members gathered with Robert Cirelli after the event. The group includes in back (l-r) Robert Cirelli, Ben Hobbs, Hannah Palmer, Amaya Wright, Hunter Smith, Nikki Phillips, Michael Christopher, Claire Marshall and Gabriel Gonzalez. In front are Henry Luther, Maggie Burris, Sutton Bennett, Coby Morris, Patrick Graham, Evan Harnett and Megan Moore.
