CHEF appreciates help with Winter Jam

February 21, 2014

Rehoboth Beach is lucky to have someone like Alyssa Titus, a shop owner and concerned citizen. As owner of Azura Clothing on Rehoboth Avenue, she puts in tons of hours making sure her store goes that extra mile in service and in merchandise, but it’s in her volunteer role that she should be most commended. Titus’ selfless actions in volunteering with so many groups shows that she is someone out for the common good, not just what she can get out of something.

Recently, she dropped everything she was doing to help with the decorations at the Winter Jam festival held to benefit the Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation, and thus the students and teachers of the Cape Henlopen School District. She took over at the last minute when the person originally in charge was unable to complete the task. The result was absolutely beautiful, and she did most of the actual work herself. She did it because she believes in the cause and because she believes in doing whatever she can to make her community a better place. She is the president of Rehoboth Beach Main Street and the originator of the Cocoa Crawl and Get Down in Town events that draw thousands of people to the area.

I stopped in to thank her the other day for all she did, but she couldn’t talk because she was working on details for another charity event.

She is an example to us all. For that and all the work for which I’m sure she is under appreciated, I say, “Thank you.”
