James Lee Bailey, Townsends retiree
Mr. James Lee Bailey, 81, of Harbeson passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at the Delaware Hospice Center.
Mr. Bailey was born in Silver Beach, Va. Sept. 29, 1932, to the late Joseph Alfred and Marie Ames Bailey. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred and Calvin.
James worked at Townsends in the feed department for many years. He was a member of St. John’s 2nd Baptist Church in Millsboro.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mable Bailey of Harbeson; six children, Kenneth Lee Bailey of Millsboro, Patricia Ann Bailey of Seaford, Vina Mae Bailey of Harbeson, Barry L. Bailey and his wife Deborah of Milford, Larry Lee Bailey and his wife Darlene of Millsboro and Vincent Maurice Bailey of Harbeson; a sister, Joanne Harris of Millsboro; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service, and Celebration of His Life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 23, at St. John’s 2nd Baptist Church, 26602 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro, where friends may call after 12:30 p.m. Burial will take place at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 24, at St. John’s 2nd Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Annie J. Custis will officiate the services.
