Flood insurance meeting on Feb. 21

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control will host a workshop from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 21, on the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012 at the CHEER Community Center, 20520 Sand Hill Road, Georgetown. The workshop, which is open to the public, is designed to provide information to floodplain management officials and insurance agents who write flood insurance policies in Delaware.

Those interested in attending should register with Greg Williams, DNREC environmental scientist, at Gregory.Williams@state.de.us or by phone at 302-739-9921. Richard Sabota, FEMA Region 3 insurance specialist, will conduct the training and explain how the new law affects the national flood insurance program.
