RAL Annex on the Avenue cuts ribbon with Rehoboth-Dewey Chamber

February 28, 2014

The Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce officially welcomed the Rehoboth Art League Annex on the Avenue with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Valentine’s Day. Located at the historic McQuay's Marketplace, the annex offers art lovers and league supporters an additional place to attend open studios and art classes, and view artwork by members.

Cindy and Paul Lovett, property owners, were among the 40 attendees for the opening. The Lovetts have made the McQuay's space available for the Rehoboth Art League to use while the property is for sale. Although the location may be temporary, it provides a unique way for the art league to offer art experiences away from the main campus.

Rehoboth Art League President Diane Beebe welcomed attendees and expressed thanks to the community for welcoming this new venture in such a positive way.

The Rehoboth Art League Annex on the Avenue opened to the public Feb. 15. Its hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday.  Featured programs include open studios, art & coffee -short art films with discussion, and several fun evening classes.

The Rehoboth Art League is a membership-based nonprofit arts organization dedicated to teaching, preserving and inspiring the arts in the region. For additional information on the art league, its classes, events and exhibitions, www.rehobothartleague.org or call 302-227-8408.

These programs are made possible, in part, by grants from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
