CAMP Rehoboth begins 2014 volunteer season

First orientation session offered March 6
March 6, 2014

CAMP Rehoboth announces the kickoff of its 2014 volunteer season. A series of volunteer orientations has been scheduled throughout 2014. The orientations will be delivered in a new interactive game format - Volunteer Jeopardy - where participants provide the questions in response to answers and learn about CAMP Rehoboth in the process.

The Jeopardy format was piloted in November 2013. Participants found it to be fun and fast-paced, and everyone agreed it was a great way to learn about CAMP Rehoboth.

To best meet the schedules of potential volunteers, orientations will be offered on a variety of days and times. All orientations take place at the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center, 37 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach. The schedule is as follows: 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 6; 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 17; 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 9; and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 18.

A variety of volunteer opportunities exist at CAMP Rehoboth. These include helping with mailings, working in the office, supporting Women's FEST, and decorating at CAMP Rehoboth's biggest fundraiser of the year, Sundance.

Volunteers who have a small amount of time to contribute can sign up for a community service project with CAMP Rehoboth's Volunteer on Vacation, put in a few hours at Unfinished Business - a local thrift shore where CAMP Rehoboth is the beneficiary, or provide support to a person living with a serious illness as part of CAMP Mautner Cares. The possibilities are numerous.

Each year, hundreds of individuals who have volunteered are invited to a Volunteer Appreciation Party. This year's appreciation party will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, April 26, at the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center.
