Eddie Filemyr's Spring Beckons exhibit begins March 10 at The Upper Crust
The Upper Crust at 7 E. Market St. in Georgetown will hold an exhibit titled Spring Beckons by award-winning artist Eddie Filemyr Monday, March 10 through Friday, April 4. A Meet & Greet reception is scheduled for 12:30 to 2 p.m., Thursday, March 20, where individuals can discuss Filemyr's art. Light refreshments will be served.
Filemyr’s whole life has been an exploration of beauty and the wonders of nature through art. She obtained her MFA from Antioch University and has taught at several colleges, universities, museums and art centers. The Upper Crust first encountered Filemyr during her participation in the 2013 inaugural Historic Georgetown Art Crawl, which is anticipated to be held again Sept. 13. She is also one of the artists who did the photography interpretation of the exhibit Visions of Georgetown, which was held at The Upper Crust in February.
Filemyr is also a Master Gardener and landscape designer. She is involved with Sussex County Master Gardeners and has led workshops at Carvel Research and Education Center near Georgetown. Filemyr drew up the plan for the garden space at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in Lewes.
Her art has been seen at a number of area art leagues and also at the Biggs Museum in Dover. Filemyr lives in Milton with her husband and pet dog.
