Milton's Elise Matalavage to perform in Wilmington

Cape grad to sing March 7 at St. Paul's UMC

Cape graduate and Milton resident Elise Matalavage is currently traveling with the Lycoming College Tour Choir. The choir will be performing its 2014 programat 7 p.m., Friday, March 7, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Wilmington.

Matalavage is one of only 40 students selected for the tour. The choir has already performed at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.; in Damascus and Frederick, Md.; Harrisburg and Reading, Pa.; Bridgewater, N.J.; and other cities along the East Coast.

The Lycoming College Tour Choir performs a wide variety of music including programs composed by Bach, Mozart and Mendelssohn, as well as some more modern secular and spiritual songs and international folk songs.

Matalavage, daughter of R. Alaine Campbell and William Matalavage, both of Milton, is a 2012 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School. Currently majoring in music education, she plans to graduate from Lycoming College in 2016 and pursue a career in the same field. Matalavage was co-captain of the 2011 Cape Henlopen cheering squad, 2011 Football Queen, and the soloist who performed the national anthem at Cape home games during the 2011 football season.
