Rehoboth Museum: Amish Qullt Designs April 12; Apollo space suits April 17
Dolores Andrew, master artist and designer, will discuss "Amish Quilt Designs" at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 12, at the Rehoboth Beach Museum. This program will be held in conjunction with the Fourth Annual Needlework Exhibit on display March 15 through May 11.
Amish quilts usually feature large, single shapes and are distinctive in the use of unusual color combinations chosen by the quilter, which produce exciting designs in purples, blues and reds. In her talk, Andrew will share many images of these examples of a vibrant art form.
Reservations are required; call the museum at 302-227-7310. Admission is free for members and $5 for nonmembers. The museum is at 511 Rehoboth Ave. next to the chamber Visitors Center. Parking is available, and the museum is handicapped accessible. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday and Friday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.,Saturday and Sunday.
At 7 p.m., Thursday, April 17, Bill Ayrey, the historian for ILC Dover, will present a program on past and present manufacturing of Apollo space suits.
