Yappy Hour thanks to Lewes community

March 13, 2014

The Delaware SPCA Georgetown Chapter would like to thank all of our two and four-footed friends who came out for the Yappy Hour celebration at Irish Eyes in Lewes Feb. 14. A huge woof-out to the sponsors, the Lewes Chamber of Commerce, P.U.P.S. of Lewes, Comcast Spotlight and Irish Eyes, for organizing the event and providing the venue.

Our raffle was wonderfully successful thanks to the donations from Tail Bangers, Verus, Get Your Wag on Pet Services, Canine Cabin, Ocean Retreat, Tootie’s Pet Patrol, State Farm-Jeanine O’Donnell and the Delaware Animal Advocacy Group. Our 50/50 sales were amazing and the winner donated her $430 in winnings back to the shelter! And not to forget those who donated, blankets, towels, food and bleach for the shelter.

Our Georgetown and Stanton shelters are a no-kill, private, nonprofit organization and not affiliated with any other SPCA statewide or nationally. We receive no county or state funding and rely on local donations to carry out our work. That’s why events such as Yappy Hour are so important to us and the animals and people we serve. We appreciate your support and couldn’t do it without you!
