Miltonian Artists light up Milton Historical Society

The gallery of the Milton Historical Society and Museum is a brighter place thanks to a donation by a group of Miltonian Artists.

A new lighting system was donated and installed by the artists to complement a previous donation of a hanging system by the Milton Arts Guild, raising the gallery space to a level ideal for the display of art.

The artists, including Jean Bowers, Maryellen Davis, Eddie Filemyr, Steven Goode, Jeanie Greenhaugh, Aurelio Grisanty, Earle Norman, Raymond Petersen, Keith Steck and Libby Zando, are all members of local and national arts organizations. Their works in oils, acrylics, photography and videography have received recognition and awards in juried shows nationwide.

Grisanty said, “I’m letting the cat out of the bag, but we are excited to be premiering the new lighting system at Miltonians: The Portrait Show, which is scheduled to open in April.” The show will feature portraits by and of the participating artists as well as a number of other Miltonians. In addition to the art exhibit, there will be presentations on art colonies in the U.S., a video show and a collector book.
