This spring, a lecture series exploring healing and spirituality will be presented at the Lewes Public Library. All lectures are free, but registration is required. This series is sponsored by the Lewes Public Library, Integrative Health - Beebe Healthcare and The Delaware Commission for Women.
Uday Jani, MD, will present the first lecture, “Medicine and Spirituality," at 3 p.m., Wednesday, April 2. Jani will explore the role of spirituality in medicine. Jani was born in India and completed his medical residency there. He is in private practice at Shore View Medical in Milton specializing in internal medicine and integrative medicine. At 3 p.m.,Tuesday, April 22, Cheyenne Luzader, MS, will present “Love the Earth with Laughter Yoga.” To celebrate Earth Day, Luzader will offer a special yoga class celebrating earth and nature. She is a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader, certified teacher of MBSR, and adjunct professor of Native American studies. In Laughter Yoga, she shares the teachings of Dr. Madan Kataria of India and leads the group in several approaches to therapeutic laughter with special exercises to celebrate Earth Day. At the final lecture, Jayne Smith will discuss “Lessons of Love from a Near Death Experience” at 3 p.m., Wednesday, May 7. Smith will share insights for living and loving gained from a near-death experience in 1952 while giving birth to her second child. She is a member of the International Association for Near Death Studies (www.iands.org) and has been active in consciousness-raising studies and speaking.
