Milton Theatre to reopen; Premier Center for the Arts plans May events

March 17, 2014

The Milton Chamber of Commerce announces the reopening of the Milton Theatre, which went dark in 2010. The property was purchased in 2013 by Glenn and Lisa Howard of Milton, and the Howards have now leased the space to the Premier Centre for the Arts.

PCA is an organization based in Middletown and focused on educational programs intended to nurture a well-rounded performer. Students at PCA not only receive instruction rooted in strong technique, but also are given opportunities to perform. PCA students participated in more than 200 student performances last year and are on pace to surpass that number in 2014, including a recent performance in Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

Fred Munzert is the executive director and a producer for PCA Productions, and he will be leading the effort to bring their programs to the Milton Theatre.

PCA is on pace to open the doors in May 2014 with a free children's workshop and is now looking for volunteers to help put the finishing touches on the theater building to meet its opening-day goal.
