Upper Crust to exhibit Ruth Ann Kaufman watercolors starting March 31

Meet & Greet reception set Thursday, April 10
March 23, 2014

The Upper Crust at 7 E. Market St. in Georgetown will exhibit  works by watercolor artist Ruth Ann Kaufman from Monday, March 31, through the end of April. A Meet & Greet reception will take place at The Upper Crust from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Thursday, April 10. Light refreshments will be served.

Kaufman is inspired by nature, animals, plants and color. She uses a variety of watercolor techniques in painting realistic pieces as well as abstract and nonrepresentational ones. Kaufman is a member of the Cape Artists Gallery, Rehoboth Art League and both the Delaware and Garden State watercolor societies, serving as president of the Garden State Watercolor Society from 2008-10.

Originally from Pittsburgh, the current Lewes resident grew up with the love and appreciation of art from her mother and grandfather, who were part-time artists. After retiring in 2012 as an occupational health and safety specialist, she decided it was time to get back to her artwork full time.

Kaufman has been in numerous juried exhibitions in New Jersey and Delaware, including one at the Biggs Museum of American Art, and has won several awards.
