Eagle's Nest celebrates St. Patrick's Day

April 3, 2014

Students at Eagles Nest Christian Academy celebrated Saint Patrick’s Day with its First Annual Celtic Festival March 18. To plan for the event, the fourth- through eighth-grade classes researched a particular aspect of the Celtic culture or the Saint Patrick's Day tradition and created hands-on activities and visual presentations for the lower elementary students, their families and the public.

The students have also been brushing up on their step dancing skills for a flash mob performance. Activities included Celtic history, song and dance, games, art, traditional dress, taste-testing of Irish foods, and learning about the historical figure, St. Patrick.

Sampling some Herb Cheese Palmiers are (l-r) Alex McClain and Elle Heintz who are being served by eighth-graders Zach Brittingham and Wes Hobbs.
