Paul Byron Rogers, machine operator

Paul Byron Rogers Sr., 80, of Georgetown passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at Milford Center.

Paul was born in Georgetown, the son of the late Bryon and Ida (Palmer) Rogers. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War (1953-55).

He was a machine operator for DuPont for 39 years, retiring in 1992.

He was a member of the Harrington Moose. He was a devoted husband and father. He loved going to the boardwalk to walk and people watch.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly VanBrunt Rogers in 2000; and a sister, Izetta Sipple.

He is survived by his children, Paul B. Rogers Jr. and his wife Joann of Rehoboth, Kevin M. Rogers and his wife Jackie L. King of Rehoboth; one grandchild, Maddie Rogers; and niece, Karen Swain and husband, Dennis of Millsboro.

Services and burial will be private. Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
