Children's summer camp July 7-11
April 1, 2014

The Millsboro Art League is hosting a Middle School Art Show of work by local students; it will run through April 26. MAL has invited seven schools including Georgetown, Millsboro and Selbyville middle schools, Southern Delaware School of the Arts, The Jefferson School, Lighthouse Christian School, and Sussex Academy to display students’ art work.

Anticipating comparable participation as last year’s show by high school students, members expect MAL’s gallery at 203 Main St. in Millsboro Town Center to be filled with creativity. Weekly gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday.

Art league members will celebrate the Middle School Art Show with a public reception from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 12, in the gallery. Students, parents, art league members and others attending will enjoy light refreshments while viewing the show to be judged by local artist John Murray, who specializes in printmaking.

In its mission to bring arts to the community, MAL will also host Exploring the Arts, a children’s summer, camp July 7 through 11. Children ages 6 to 10 can attend from 10 a.m. to noon with 10- to 13-year-olds joining the fun from 1 to 3 p.m. MAL members will share their knowledge and experience to help children learn painting in watercolor and acrylic, drawing, and ceramics. Interested parents can call MAL at 302-934-7440 during gallery hours or leave contact information. Online summer camp registration will be available in late April.
