April 3, 2014

Cape shortstop Kai Vitella went 3-for-4 from the plate with a double and scored three runs as the Vikings outlasted the Blue Raiders 15-12 at Chris Short Field April 1.

Vikings first baseman David Kwan went yard with a home run and knocked in three runs. Griffin Kammerer, David Kennedy and Hunter Engel hit a home run, triple and double, respectively.

"We made some physical and mental mistakes that we need to eliminate if we want to compete with the better teams in the state," said head coach Ben Evick. "We have a team of hardworking players that are getting better every time out on the diamond."

Alec McCoy, Kammerer and Will Jarrell teamed up to pitch an eight-hitter to move the Vikings to 2-1 on the season.
