Pancake Breakfast fundraiser to benefit homeless April 12

Easter Bunny to be on hand for photo ops
April 2, 2014

Epworth United Methodist Church on Holland Glade Road in Rehoboth Beach has a group of volunteers who have collected food donations, cooked, and helped with the overnight stays of homeless people in Rehoboth since November 2013. The Immanuel Shelter will close within the next week, but it still needs funds. The shelter pays for utilities and has other expenses.

There will be a Pancake Breakfast with the Easter Bunny fundraiser for the shelter from 8 to 11 a.m., Saturday, April 12, at Epworth United Methodist Church. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets will be sold at the door. Shelter volunteers will gladly accept donations; make checks out to the Immanuel Shelter. Photos may be taken with the Easter Bunny.

At the end of April or early May, many area leaders will get together to discuss the needs of the homeless in Sussex County. Solutions may be group homes, a permanent shelter, different churches housing the homeless, or something else.
