Reader applauds recent editorial

April 4, 2014

I applaud your March 25 editorial. Sussex County cannot afford to continue to piecemeal upzoning and increase density as proposed in the Winswept Stable and RV campground projects. I fully agree that a comprehensive plan that looks at roads and infrastructure needs to be done before the proposed projects are voted upon. Therefore, I hope our county officials take your recommendations and act upon them.

Our roads and infrastructure must be improved for all future development in our area. Smart development driven by a well thought through comprehensive plan looking at both current and future developments will make the eastern portion of Sussex County a better place to live. If our quality of life is improved it will be beneficial to the county. Proper planning supporting the health and welfare of the people will bring new businesses, professionals and new full time residents to the area. Sussex County, particularly the eastern side, can continue to grow, but it requires more discipline and future thinking by the county.
