Delaware Humane Association unveils a brand-new look
Delaware Humane Association takes on a brand-new look in many ways this year. Construction is well underway on a new animal shelter and adoption center for the 57-year-old, no-kill nonprofit organization, which is due to open in early 2015. In addition, a brand-new look for the organization was introduced during DHA’s 8th annual Muttini Mixer fundraiser held March 29.
As DHA’s staff and board of directors began preparing for their new facility and the future, they wanted to reaffirm the organization’s mission and focus. A team of staff and volunteers worked with a local marketing and communications firm to examine DHA’s identity within Delaware’s animal welfare community and developed a new logo.
The team concluded that DHA is a caregiving organization that: recognizes and anticipates the needs of others; creates a friendly, welcoming atmosphere; is driven by the desire to protect and care for those in need; and recognizes that the development of relationships is a priority
Executive Director Patrick Carroll said, “We are very grateful to our friends at ab+c for their creative expertise and their generous support and assistance with this process. What makes Delaware Humane Association unique is that we believe in fulfilling the needs of both animals and the humans who care for them. As construction continues on our new home, we want everything about DHA to be like brand new, starting with our logo.”
DHA’s new look comes along with a new slogan, “Making friends for life,” which has several meanings: focusing on providing forever homes; caring for animals and humans as the true meaning of “humane”; providing support and education to help people give the best possible home to their companion animals; and offering a variety of programs and services that support animal owners
