Five photographers in Paynter's Mill show
Local photographers Ron MacArthur, Deny Howeth, Carol Thomas and Barb Moulinier and Red Moulinier combine talents to fill the wall of The Kitchen at Paynter's Mill, owned by Lisa and Chef Ray Richardson, who support the local art scene. The restaurant on Route 88 just off Route 1, is open Wednesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner.
The opening reception will take place from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 19. The show will run through May 28 with 10 percent of photo sales benefiting the nonprofit agency Children and Families First of Sussex County.
Ron MacArthur, a Sussex County native and Cape Gazette photojournalist, has been taking photographs for more than half of his life. What started out as a high school hobby has grown into a passion. Deny Howeth, a Sussex County native, has been a photographer and graphic designer for more than 25 years. Currently a Cape Gazette photographer, her subjects range through landscapes, portraits and macro plant photography. Visit denyhoweth.com.
Carol Thomas has been a resident of the area for almost 20 years and has been active in photography for the last 15 years. Her primary photographic interests are wildlife and macro photography. She has developed her photographic skills by participating in seminars and online classes, as well as learning from other local photographers.
Barb Moulinier is a local amateur photographer who specializes in soothing images. Her images brighten the homes of many locals and vacationers alike. Moulinier has won numerous awards for her scenic photos of serene beaches and local sunsets. She and her husband, Red, reside in Rehoboth Beach.
Red Moulinier became interested in photography while on vacations watching his wife enjoy capturing their memories on film and later digitally. In 2011, he joined the Coastal Camera Club and through educational workshops, networking with other photographers and learning through the mentoring program, he soon began winning competitions.
