Boys & Girls Clubs host Youth of the Year event in Rehoboth

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware hosted the annual Delaware statewide Youth of the Year selection event April 4 and 5 at the Boardwalk Plaza in Rehoboth Beach.

The Youth of the Year program highlights members who try to live to their full potential. On Friday night, 11 youth representing students ages 14-19 from all over the state navigated themselves to local businesses around town and showed their Boys & Girls Club spirit.

The scavenger hunt included completing different tasks at local businesses around Rehoboth Avenue. The teens actively engaged themselves in the scavenger hunt activities such as taking their picture on a fire truck, acting like a mannequin in a store display window, playing imaginary twister on the beach, performing their best dance moves at Candy Kitchen, greeting local customers at Grotto Pizza and exercising at Nicola Pizza.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware thanks the local businesses for participating in this event. The statewide organization also thanks the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel and the Sandcastle Hotel for helping make this event, which honors youth, such a success. For more information go to www.bgclubs.org.
