May is Poppy Month campaign kicks off

Supports veteran programs
April 26, 2014

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 28 kicked off May is Poppy Month recently. During May, poppies will be available at several sites. Poppies are used to honor veterans for their service and sacrifice, and the donations from the Poppy Month campaign are used to support veterans programs.

Miss Poppy Paris Parks, left, and Poppy Chair Pauline Law will visit Sussex County Council and Legislative Hall as part of the celebration. This year, members will also have poppy magnets that can be purchased for $3 each. Parks and Law are shown with samples.

Law hopes the community will support her volunteers who will be at the Millsboro post office and Giant. For more information contact Law at 302-947-1605.
