April 30, 2014

Tidewater Utilities Inc. was recognized with the Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics from the Better Business Bureau of Delaware at its Annual Dinner April 7 at the Chase Center in Wilmington.

The Torch Award is given annually to companies exhibiting high ethical standards of behavior toward customers, suppliers, shareholders, and employees. “Tidewater was selected for displaying a unique level of commitment to business ethics and customer service - they truly embody the foundation and mission of the Better Business Bureau. We are proud to have such an elite group represented this year,” said Christine Sauers, president of the Delaware Better Business Bureau. Tidewater was selected in the medium-size company category. It employs just fewer than 100 staff in Delaware.

“We are honored to have been selected to receive this award for the second time, which reflects the values of the company and our commitment to our customers,” said Gerard Esposito, president of Tidewater Utilities. “This prestigious award honors those companies that embrace the Better Business Bureau’s values and mission, and demonstrate those values in all aspects of their company operations. We can never lose sight of our responsibilities of our employees, families, the communities we serve and our relationships with our customers.”
