Mahaffie has earned seat on Lewes Council

May 2, 2014

Friday’s meet the candidates night sponsored by the Lewes Homeowners Association was well run and attended by 130 or so Lewes residents. The three Lewes City Council candidates made worthy comments and were able to address objectively many of the  concerns posed by audience members. Having worked with Mike Mahaffie for 15 years on the Lewes Planning Commission, I believe that he made a strong presentation as to why he should be elected to council. The fact that he has broad experience with governance and state and local agencies, and the fact that he has lived in Lewes for some 27 years present key rationale for electing him to a seat on city council May 10. Experience may not always be the best teacher, as they say, because sometimes the experience doesn’t give you time to study. But with Mike Mahaffie, he has had time in service and he has studied, thus earning my vote for him to serve Lewes as a city councilman.
