Young musician Delaney Cinnamon named to all-state chorus

May 3, 2014

Delaney Cinnamon, an eighth-grader currently attending The Jefferson School in Georgetown, was chosen to be a part of the Delaware Junior All-State Chorus. She was among the hundreds of students from throughout the state taking part in competitive auditions for the Delaware All-State Chorus this past February.

The event, sponsored by Delaware Music Educators Association, had over 500 seventh- and eighth-graders in attendance auditioning for 190 places in the chorus. Participating students attended two days of rehearsals and spent an additional two and a half  days preparing for the concert that was presented Feb. 22 at Seaford High School.

In addition to being a Delaware Junior All-State Chorus member, Delaney is involved in local theater and performs with the Possum Point Players and the Second Street Players. She recently sang for volunteers being recognized at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital’s Volunteer Banquet and enjoys performing any chance she can get.

The Jefferson School, a nonsectarian, independent day school, is located on 43 wooded acres in Georgetown, and strives to provide innovative, academic programs that foster an enthusiasm for learning.
