Eileen Mary Flaherty, devout Catholic

Eileen Mary Flaherty of Lewes passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. She was born May 18, 1943, in New York City, daughter of the late Hugh F.McGrail and Gertrude R. (Bannon) McGrail.

She was a member of St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes. Photography, travel, flower arranging, decorating and reading were many of her favorite pastimes, however, spending time with her grandchildren meant the most to her.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Thomas Anthony Flaherty; a son Richard Thomas Flaherty of Suffern, N.Y.; a daughter Jennifer Lynne Donahue and her husband William of Olney, Md.; a sister Carole Keller and husband Harold of Rockaway Park, N.Y.; and three grandchildren, Catherine, William and Elisabeth Donahue.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 25, at 11 a.m., at St. Virgilius Roman Catholic Church, 16 Noel Road, Broad Channel, N.Y.

A Memorial Mass will be held Monday June 30, at 11 a.m., at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes. Burial will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO BOX 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
