Sussex Pain Relief Center among honorees at Delaware's SBA Awards May 21

May 6, 2014

Delaware Gov. Jack Markell will spotlight small business success as keynote speaker at the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Delaware Small Business Awards Ceremony starting at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, at DuPont Country Club in Wilmington. Markell will join SBA’s White House appointee Mid-Atlantic Regional Administrator Natalia Olson-Urtecho and SBA Delaware Director John Fleming at the ceremony honoring Delaware small business owners and lenders.

Honored for 2014 as Minority-Owned Business of the Year is Dr. Manonmani Antony, pain physician and managing member, Sussex Pain Relief Center LLC, Georgetown. He will join 10 other award recipients at the May 21 ceremony.

“What makes SBA’s small business awards program so important is that it is a national awards program spotlighting America’s main streets,” said Fleming. “Small business is the engine of our nation’s economy, as we are so often reminded. But our small business community is so much more than that. It is a fundamental part of the core of our character as a nation. Small businesses shape the character of America’s main streets. SBA’s Delaware Small Business Awards ceremony celebrates the small businesses that make our state uniquely Delaware, and SBA is proud and honored to have Gov. Markell join in that celebration.”

Tim Furlong, NBC10 Delaware bureau chief and WDEL assistant news director, will emcee the Celebrate Success awards ceremony. This event is a local observance of National Small Business Week, held this year May 12-16.
